LERN Conference 2011: Programme

The 9th Annual LERN Conference will be held on Wednesday 5th October 2011 in Malet Place Engineering 1.03 (UCL).

The LERN conference provides an opportunity for postgraduate students working on any aspect of evolution to present their work to a diverse audience. This year’s keynote speakers will be Dr. Alex Mesoudi presenting on ‘Human cultural evolution: past, present and future‘ and Professor Adam Eyre-Walker presenting on ‘Effective population size and the rate of adaptive evolution‘.

Prizes will be handed out for best talk.

The 9th Annual LERN Conference will be held on 5th October in the UCL Anthropology department.

The LERN conference provides an opportunity for postgraduate students working on any aspect of evolution to present their work to a diverse audience. Last year’s programme, available here, demonstrates the broad range of topics showcased at the conference. We welcome applications from institutions both inside and outside of London..

We’re very pleased to announce our two keynote speakers for this year will be Alex Mesoudi and Adam Eyre-Walker.

Talks are 15 minutes long with five minutes for questions. Posters may also be submitted. Prizes will be awarded for the best talk and best poster.

Registration is free and there will be a drinks reception after the conference.

The LERN conference provides an opportunity for postgraduate students working on any aspect of evolution to present their work to a diverse audience. The conference spans a full day with four sessions and two keynote speakers.
