This year LERN joined hands with the Linnean Society to bring you an exciting evening at the Burlington House on Thursday 20th of November 2014.
This event will honour environmental pioneer Rachel Carson, who sadly passed away 50 years ago. As such, the evening will be a panel discussion on the challenges of expanding agricultural productivity while safe-keeping biodiversity. This discussion will be chaired by Prof. Georgina Mace (UCL) who will engage with a fantastic group of speakers: Profs. Andrew Balmford (Cambridge) and Guy Poppy (Southampton), Dr. Helen Hicks (Sheffield) and Kerry ten Kate (Forest Trends).
The event is FREE and will run from 17:30 to 19:00, with tea being served at 17:00 and coming to a close with a wine reception from 19:00-20:00. As the room has limited capacity and is likely to be a popular event for both LERN and members of the Linnean Society, we encourage attendees to be there ahead of time to avoid disappointment.
