LERN Conference Registration & Timetable

We now have a completed timetable for 11th Annual LERN Conference to be held on the 5th of November in the Archaeology Lecture Theatre at University College London (entry via UCL Anthropology, 14 Taviton Street).

Registration for the Conference is free and open to all.  Anyone who would like to attend is asked to email their name and affiliation to the LERN committee at londonevolution@gmail.com before the 31st of October so we can confirm numbers with our venue and caterers.

Abstract Submission Deadline Extended to September 30th

The abstract submission deadline for the 11th Annual LERN Conference has now been extended to Monday, September 30th.  The conference is an excellent opportunity for post-graduate and early career evolutionary researchers to show case their work.

The London Evolutionary Research Network will be hosting its 11th annual conference on November 5, 2013.

The conference will take place at University College London and will consist of three keynote speakers, several student and post-doctoral talks, and a poster session. Cecilia Heyes of Oxford University has kindly agreed to be one of our keynote speakers and the other two will be announced in the coming weeks.

We would like to invite all interested evolutionary researchers (at any academic level) to submit an abstract by September 30th for a talk or a poster.

To submit an abstract please send an email to londonevolution@gmail.com with the subject line: ‘LERN conference abstract’. The email should include the following information:

1) Your name

2) Your institution

3) Your program and year/level of study

4) An abstract no longer than 200 words

5) Whether you would prefer to present your work as a talk or poster

The LERN conference provides an opportunity for postgraduate students and early-career researchers working on any aspect of evolution to present their work to a diverse audience. Coffee breaks, lunch, and a post-event wine reception will be provided.

This year’s session keynote speakers will be:

  • Dr Marc Jones, UCL – the founding Chairman of LERN
  • Dr Keith Jensen, QMUL
  • Dr Frank Jiggins, University of Cambridge

All talk slots are now filled, but poster abstracts are invited for submission. The poster display will run throughout the day, with specific sessions scheduled during plenary session breaks. Prizes will be awarded for the best poster.
